Basketball: DBB team plays against Serbia in Frankfurt

The German national team will play their FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Serbia on 23rd September. February 2018 in Frankfurt am Main.

The German national basketball team will play their World Cup qualifying match against Serbia on 23-23 March. February 2018 in Frankfurt am Main. Tip-off at the Fraport Arena with its 5000 spectators is at 7.30 pm. This was announced by the German Basketball Federation (DBB) on Thursday.

The DBB team, under the new national coach Henrik Rödl, has won its first two games in Group G against Georgia and Austria and leads the table ahead of the unbeaten Serbs.

“We are delighted to come to Frankfurt for this immensely important game and will do everything we can to beat Serbia’s favourite in front of our basketball fans,”said DBB Vice President Armin Andres.

Serbia is vice world champion, runner-up European champion and silver medallist of the Olympic Games in Rio. The top team will be trained by Sasa Djordjevic, head coach of Bayern Munich.
