Derrick Rose is currently working on his comeback at Cleveland Cavaliers. However, this could be delayed because he may have to undergo surgery due to bone fragments in the ankle.
This was explained by the Point Guard during the team shooting round before the game against Pacers. Accordingly, surgery would be necessary if the “normal” rehabilitation program did not help. It is completely unclear when he will be able to play again in the event of an operation.
It was the first time since he was absent that Rose spoke to the media again. He thanked the Cavaliers for their support and for protecting his privacy. That made him happy.
He also commented that the money may have influenced his decision to return. At the end of his career, he would have had to forego 80 million dollars from his Adidas contract, according to media reports. But:”I don’t give a damn. That’s not the point – I’ve saved enough money. If I wanted to stop, I would have done it. But now I’m here and I want to start my rehab. This is my next step.”
The decision to come to the Cavs in the summer was, according to him, the absolutely right one “This was one of the best decisions of my life. I’m one of the best teams in the league here. They’re giving me everything I need. I just want to play basketball.”
