Ski-Alpine: Super-G in St.

The first World Cup Super-G from St. Stephen is the first super G world cup for two great alpine skiers. Moritz didn’t go well. The Swiss Lara Gut fell again at her home race after she had suffered a rupture of the cruciate ligament last winter. But the 26-year-old remained unharmed. The situation was different with Lindsey Vonn, although the US-American finished in 24th place (+1.56 sec.).

The record winner in the World Cup had scored after a few goals and finished with pain in the lumbar vertebrae, where she went down to the ground. The 33-year-old had herself treated for about an hour before she walked limping to a car and was taken out of the target area. A rescue was not required. Whether the four-time overall World Cup winner will compete in the second Super-G on Sunday (10.30 a. m.) was still open for the time being.

The Super-G will be contested by the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) with Saturday’s line-up, plus Michaela Kirchgasser, Elisabeth Kappaurer and Christina Ager, who only count for the combined classification. This results in 13 ÖSV activists. Dajana Dengscherz is the only one from the Friday line-up not to be there, she is ill.
