Speed skating: One day after German record: Ihle disappointed in Salt Lake City

One day after his German record, speed skater Nico Ihle disappointed at the World Cup in Salt Lake City. The Chemnitzer reached over 500 m in 34.62 seconds only 18th place with 20 starters. This left him 27 hundredths above his record time.

On Friday, Ihle had improved his own German record by two hundredths over the same distance on the fast Olympic track of 2002 in 34.35 seconds, but only reached seventh place.

In the women’s race Judith Dannhauer reached the 13th place in 37.9 seconds over 500m. Place. In doing so, the Erfurt resident secured the standard for the Olympic Games in Pyeongchan.

In the B-Race over 1500 m Gabriele Hirschbichler won in 1:54,67 minutes and beat her personal best performance by 0,9 seconds.
