Winter sports: ISU confirms venues for European Championships in Russia

After the exclusion of Russia from the Olympic Winter Games, the ISU (Ice-skating World Association) has announced the Russian host cities Kolomna for the European Speed Skating Championships (5. till 7 January) and Moscow for the European Figure Skating Championships (15. till 21. January) is confirmed.

January) is confirmed. As the ISU emphasised, doping controls were carried out by international and not by Russian inspectors. In addition, the samples would be analysed outside Russia.

On Tuesday, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) held a meeting with Russia in Pyeongchang next year due to the doping scandal of the winter games (9th Olympic Games in Pyeongchang. till 25. February) excluded. However, Russian athletes are allowed to compete under certain conditions.
