Ski-Alpine: Marcel Hirscher overhauled with 47.

Marcel Hirscher from Salzburg won his 47th victory in the Val d’ Isere slalom on Sunday. World Cup victory celebrated. The 28-year-old overtook Marc Girardelli (46) from Vorarlberg who had started for Luxembourg in the men’s “eternal” ranking and is now fourth only. The Italian ski icon Alberto Tomba (50) has three more victories than Hirscher.

Hirscher is now seventh place in the mixed ranking of both sexes. The most successful Austrian in the Ski World Cup is Hermann Maier with 54 victories. The Swede Ingemar Stenmark, who won 86 races, is undoubtedly at the top for some time to come.
