Olympic Games 2018: Three more Russian athletes prefer CAS

Three other Russian athletes have filed an appeal with the International Sports Court CAS against their lifelong Olympic suspensions by the International Olympic Committee.

The sportswomen are the biathlete Olga Saizewa (at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi silver with the relay) and the cross-country skiers Julia Tschekalewa (6. with the 4x5km relay) and Anastassija Dozenko (6th place) in the team sprint).

The CAS has opened a procedure for each athlete and will inform about further steps in the coming days. The athletes asked that before the start of the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang (9. till 25. February) should take a decision.

This means that all 25 Russian athletes who had been blocked by the IOC for life for all Olympic functions have now lodged an objection with CAS. In total, the so-called Oswald Commission is investigating 36 cases of Russian athletes who are said to have benefited from manipulations at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.
