Freestyle Skiing: Zacher again second

Ski-crosser Heidi Zacher once again proved her strong early form in the Olympic winter. As at the start in Val Thorens, Zacher finished second at the second World Cup in Arosa.

Again, only World Champion Sandra Näslund from Sweden was faster. The Munich-based Celia Funkler finished seventh in the German Olympianorm, Julia Eichinger (Neureichenau) took half the norm with 13th place. Nina Kloe (Karlsruhe) failed in the last sixteen and finished in 25th place.

In the men’s event, Paul Eckert (Samerberg-Törwang) also achieved half the Olympic norm in Sweden’s victory Viktor Andersson was tenth.

Daniel Bohnacker (Gerhausen) finished 20th, junior world champion Florian Wilmsmann (Hartpennig) only finished eighth in Val Thorens in 22nd place. Franz Pietzko (Rottach-Egern) and Tobias Müller (Fischen) had to settle for places 25 and 28.

Before Christmas the competitions in Montafon (Austria/15.12.) and San Candido (Italy/21. and 22.12.). In order to meet the Olympic standard, the ski crossers have to finish among the top eight in the World Cup once or twice in the top 15.
