Ski jumping:”Wunderkind” Domen Prevc celebrates his comeback in Engelberg

Slovenia’s ski jumping super talent Domen Prevc returns to the World Cup this weekend in Engelberg.

Chief coach Goran Janus called the 18-year-old into his squad for the two individual competitions on Saturday and Sunday in Switzerland, after the youngest of the Prevc brothers had recently shown ascending form during the training in Planica.

Prevc, who has not competed in the Olympic Winter so far, celebrated his fourth victory last year at the traditional dress rehearsal for the Four Hills Tournament in Engelberg within less than four weeks. During the tour itself and also afterwards the “Wunderkind” fell short of expectations, the victory in Engelberg remained his last one so far.

Due to a lack of form at the beginning of the season, Janus has so far abandoned the “Domenator” and the middle Prevc-brother Cene (21). Only top star Peter Prevc (25) took part in the previous World Cup show jumping competitions, but is far from the outstanding form of the 2015/16 season.
