Skistar Lindsey Vonn has received disagreeable postings in the social media following her criticism of US President Donald Trump’s policies. It hurts to read such comments,”wrote Vonn, who also reported positive feedback. This shows how divided the country is.
In a CNN interview last week, Vonn had stated that he would represent the American people, but not the president, at the Pyeongchang Winter Games in February. Trump left this unanswered. Vonn now said she was proud to be an American. The USA, however, would be seen as being rather negative in the world at present.
“You can’t take a newspaper or turn up television in Europe without realising that the direction we are going in is being questioned,” said Vonn,”It seems to me that we should show understanding and strive for unity in our global relationships.
The most successful female ski racer of all time (77 World Cup victories) is aiming for a medal at the games in South Korea. In 2010 she won gold in the downhill, Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi and Vonn missed out on her injury. The speed specialist will be competing in Val d’ Isere this weekend.
