BBL: Rockets Erfurt lose main sponsor – gaming operation secured

The Rockets Erfurt from BBL will lose their main sponsor at the end of the year. Despite the Oettinger Brewery’s withdrawal, however, the game is guaranteed to run at least for the current season.

The club president and partner Astrid Kollmar ensures that the game can continue with a six-digit, capped private deposit. In order to ensure that Erfurt will continue to host basketball in the coming season, the rockets are also intensifying their search for a new name sponsor.

“We do not have an easy road ahead of us, but we see it as a challenge that we want to overcome,”said Astrid Kollmar, widow of the late Dirk Kollmar, co-founder of the association, at the presentation of a new Rockets logo. It now contains the slogan “Sponsor wanted”.

The process is coordinated with BBL and, in view of the special circumstances arising from the main sponsor’s departure, we will continue to be closely involved with the club,”said Thomas Braumann, Chairman of the Licensing League Committee. The long-term future depends on the extent to which industry is involved and how much more sponsors are found.

Erfurt is at risk of relegation after twelve rounds with two victories and ten defeats as the penultimate in the standings.
