Biathlon: Laura Dahlmeier second in the sprint of Annecy

Laura Dahlmeier has set a big exclamation point in her third single race of the Olympic Winter. The 24-year-old from Partenkirchen did not make any shooting mistakes during the 7.5 km sprint in Annecy and finished second place in the season. Faster was only the superior Slovak Anastasiya Kuzmina (0), who celebrated her ninth World Cup victory.

Dahlmeier, who missed the start of the World Cup in Östersund due to a cold, was 33.9 seconds behind Kuzmina in the finish line and thus secured a good starting position for the pursuit on Saturday (11.45 hrs). Third place went to Vita Semerenko from Ukraine (0).

“Winter started with me a few weeks ago, too. But this is the first podium position in the singles and I am very happy about it,”said Dahlmeier on ZDF:”I’m not quite 100 percent yet. Denise Herrmann (1) in fifth place and Maren Hammerschmidt (1) in ninth place completed a good result for the DSV.

With the second-best time after Kuzmina, the former cross-country skier Herrmann convinced once again in the cross-country ski run. An error in the vertical stop position prevented an even better placement.

“I’m not quite as fresh as I was in Östersund,”said Herrmann, who had won twice in Sweden:”It was a good race anyway. I hope I can tie it to the pursuer.”

Vanessa Hinz (1) came in 18th place. to the finish line. Franziska Hildebrand (1) was 42nd, Franziska Preuß (2) finished in 48th place.

At the third World Cup of the Olympic Winter, the men’s sprint will follow on Friday (14.15 hrs in the LIVETICKER). On Saturday the pursuit races are scheduled.

The women start at 11.45 a. m. (in the LIVETICKER) and the men leave at 2.45 p. m. (in the LIVETICKER) for the cross-country ski run. On Sunday the mass start with women (11.45 o’ clock in the LIVETICKER) and men (14.30 o’ clock in the LIVETICKER) forms the conclusion on Sunday.
