Cycling: Illegal sleeping pills: Lotto-Jumbo suspends three riders

The Dutch cycling team Lotto-Jumbo has suspended three of its cyclists for an indefinite period of time. Juan-José Lobato, Antwan Tolhoek and Pascal Eenkhoorn had to leave the training camp in Girona.

The trio owned or consumed a sleeping pill without the knowledge of the team leader.

“This is a serious violation of the team rules,”said the lotto jumbo management. The drug taken does not belong to the doping relevant substances.

In a team meeting in which all the drivers and employees took part, the entire team clearly distanced itself from the three suspensions. To avoid repetition, Lotto-Jumbo has offered help to the athletes.
