The Dallas Mavericks had to face the season without Point Guard Seth Curry. And his latest statement suggests that a comeback cannot be foreseen.
Curry had suffered a stressful fracture in his left leg during the preseason and had not yet recovered from it. When asked in the course of a training session how long he would remain out, he said:”I don’t know. It’s still the same situation. I can only wait to see if it heals or not. I have to give it time.”
There is also the danger that the injury does not heal naturally. Then an operation would be “a way to advance the rehab. At least,”The last MRI showed it’s gotten a little better.”
All in all, the situation is “very frustrating”, but Curry will continue to work day after day on the comeback.
For the next two games, Rookie Dennis Smith (Hip) will also be out of action, making the guard rotation even smaller. Coach Rick Carlisle said:”We’ll get it right and distribute the minutes correctly. We have enough point guards in the roster to compensate for injuries.”
