NFL: Cardinals: Peterson’s season ended?

Is the season for Adrian Peterson already over? The running back of the Arizona Cardinals missed the last two games of the season due to a neck injury. His coach was not very confident about his return.

On Wednesday, Cardinal coach Bruce Arian told reporters that he had “no idea” whether the veteran would get another stint in the last three games of the season. Peterson injured himself in his victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 12. However, surgery on the back should not be necessary.

Meanwhile, during his absence, a promising backup could be recommended. Kerwynn Williams ran in the games against the Rams and the Titans for 170 yards and made a very good impression especially two weeks ago.

Arizona has a record of 6-7 and has recently had the opportunity to take part in a playoff. While the prospects for playoff football are not very bright, Peterson has not yet made any indications of a return for another season with the Cardinals or another team.
