Basketball: Home game for Schröder: DBB-Team takes part in Braunschweig

The German basketball players compete in Dennis Schröder’s hometown of Braunschweig for the last home game in the first group stage of the World Cup qualification. The team around the NBA pro from the Atlanta Hawks will meet on 29. June 2018 in the Volkswagen Hall on Austria.

“Of course, we will do everything in our power to present our fans with the strongest German team including the NBA players,”said Armin Andres, Vice President of the German Basketball Federation (DBB).

The DBB team had won the first two qualifying matches under the new national coach Henrik Rödl and leads the Group G table ahead of Serbia. There were victories over Georgia (79:70) and Austria (90:49).

The NBA and EuroLeague players were not present at the end of November, and even in the second international match window in February, when Serbia and Austria will face off, there will be a shortage of professionals such as Schröder, Daniel Theis (Boston Celtics), Paul Zipser (Chicago Bulls), Maximilian Kleber (Dallas Mavericks) and Johannes Voigtmann (Vitoria/Spain) due to the fact that they will be playing in their leagues. There shouldn’t be any problems in summer.
