The victory at the Boston Celtics was expensive for Utah Jazz. Center Rudy Gobert injured his knee again and had to leave the match early. A quick examination at least did not reveal any major damage to the Frenchman’s knee.
ESPN reported that Gobert was x-rayed immediately after the match and the result was negative. On Sunday, however, the team will perform an MRI to clear up any last doubts. Gobert must have only suffered a sprain in his left knee.
The Frenchman went down in the Celtics game when he collided with team-mate Derrick Favors in the first quarter. Afterwards he limped off the field, but at least by himself.
Despite this serious outage, the jazz was able to win the Eastern Conference’s best team,”This team owns Charaker and always gives its best, no matter what the circumstances,”jazz coach Quin Snyder said after the game.
Gobert was injured for the second time this season. Earlier this season, Gobert was injured on his right knee and had to miss eleven games. In the 17 games in which he played, the center played 12.2 points and 10.1 rebounds.
