BBL: Munich extends lead in the standings

In the German Basketball Bundesliga, Bayern Munich has extended its lead over Alba Berlin. The Munich team won on 13. Rockets Gotha climbed to the top of the league without any problems 98:59 (44:32).

Due to Berlin’s 84:90 (32:46) defeat at Skyliners Frankfurt, coach Sasa Djordjevic’s team now has a six-point advantage over the second-placed capitals. Defending champions Brose Bamberg also weakened and lost to EWE Baskets Oldenburg 74:81 (43:44).

Bamberg fell back to fifth place after the fifth defeat behind the equal-point medi Bayreuth (18 in each case). The Munich team led Small Forward Reggie Redding to the tenth victory in series with 15 points.

Due to a weak second quarter (10:25) Berlin lost a better result against the Skylineers and won the fourth defeat. Frankfurt’s Tai Webster (29) and Albas Luke Sikma (20) were the best shooters of the game.

The 15 points from Dorell Wright were not enough for coach Andrea Trinchieri’s championship team. Oldenburg’s Small Forward Rickey Paulding led his team to victory in a strong second half with a strong 28 points.
