NFL: Steelers drama: Brown goes to hospital with calf injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers are worried about their superstar: Antonio Brown, without a doubt the best receiver of the current season, was injured in the first half of the game against the patriots. There is a possible bad news for the Steelers.

When trying to catch a possible touchdown pass in the end zone, Brown’s leg was hit hard in the air by a patriot defender and beaten back against his actual direction of travel. The receiver could then not exert any load on the leg and had to be supported on its way into the cabin.

According to the first official figures, it’s a calf bruise – but head coach Mike Tomlin said at the halftime break that he doesn’t expect to get Brown back for the rest of the match.

The team announced a short time later that the receiver will be taken to hospital for further examination, suggesting a potentially more serious injury. He had already been x-rayed in the stadium’s stomach.

Further information is expected late in the evening or on Monday.
