NFL: Vikings: Teddy Bridgewater makes a comeback

Emotional scene in Minnesota: Thanks to the clear lead against the Cincinnati Bengals in the final quarter, there was a Vikings comeback that some people once thought was no longer possible: quarterback Teddy Bridgewater returned to an NFL field for some snaps.

For Bridgewater, this was the first regular season operation after 714 days due to the cruel knee injury suffered during training. Bridgewater had missed the entire 2016 season due to injury, which is why Minnesota picked Sam Bradford from Philadelphia in the run-up to the season.

For most of the current season, Bridgewater, whose contract expires in the spring just as Case Keenum and Sam Bradford’s contract expires in the spring, was not yet available either, but he has been back in the squad for a few weeks. However, there was no real quarterback debate – Keenum’s performance was too strong.

This also paved the way for a safe success over the Bengals, which enabled Bridgewater’s late deployment. He ended up unhappy, his first pass was a distorted interception and he ended the game without completion (0/2). But the cheering of the fans and the other players at his substitution was the scene of the match day.
