Basketball: EuroLeague: Bamberg loses to fearful opponent Kaunas

Brose Bamberg was a fearful opponent of Zalgiris Kaunas in the EuroLeague, once again an excessively high hurdle. However, coach Andrea Trinchieri’s side sold out in Lithuania after losing 84:88 (49:50) in the match.

Of 13 duels against Kaunas so far, Bamberg could only win one, in the 2015/16 season with 96:63. Apart from that, however, there was nothing but bankruptcy against the top club, which celebrated its eighth victory in the current competition.

The Swiss franc was able to keep the game even from the start. When Daniel Hackett was able to reduce the score to 84:86 with a threesome 25 seconds to go, the hope of the nine-time German champion briefly rose again. But Aaron White made the decision with two transformed free throws.

With 15 points, Hackett was the second best thrower in Bamberg behind Dorell Wright (22). National player Maodo Lo contributed 14 points. At Kaunas, Artura’s Milaknis was the best marksman with 20 points.
