MLB: Pitcher Cole Hamels donates property for $9.4 million

Cole Hamels, Pitcher of the Texas Rangers and his wife Heidi give away a property worth 9.4 million dollars for a good cause. The villa near Springfield/Missouri has 40 hectares of land. The gift goes to Camp Barnabas, an institution for chronically ill children.

“Barnabas makes dreams come true and we wanted to help in a special way,” Hamels said in an explanation:”There is nothing better than seeing these happy faces, hearing their laughter and reading the stories they are experiencing here.

Hamels was traded to the Rangers for the 2015 season and therefore never moved into the villa. The villa has a huge playground and a boat dock.
