The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Denver Nuggets 95:94 on Tuesday night, but Carmelo Anthony was hardly a factor.
Melo only had six throws in the game and scored only 4 points, the lowest since 2012. OKC won the game, however, as Russell Westbrook (38 points) showed a great game.
Afterwards Anthony said to his litter possibilities:”That’s okay with me if we win. Westbrook was in a good mood, and if he plays like that, we’ll just have to make room and let him go to work.”
Paul George also only had 13 throws in the game, well below his season cut,”There will be evenings like this,”said Anthony,”but I think that’s something we just have to accept. It’s different, but we have to accept that. On days like this, we just have to let Russell lead us.”
Anthony takes an average of 15.9 litters this season, which is less than usual for him. This is partly planned:”Most of the time my opponent doesn’t help out. The opponent coaches tell their players that they can’t leave me alone. As a result, I can make room for my fellow players even if I don’t have the ball,”Anthony explained.
