Sports policy: IOC and partners establish taskforces against corruption

The International Olympic Committee (IOC), in cooperation with the International Partnership against Corruption in Sport (IPACS), has launched three new task force groups. The new units are designed to intensify the fight against corruption.

The start-ups will counteract corruption at major sporting events and the management of infrastructure, it was said. In addition, the awarding of major sporting events is to be made with greater integrity in mind. In addition, the principles of ethical and moral good governance are to be extended.

The foundation was agreed during a two-day meeting of IPACS in Paris. IPACS is an association of different stakeholders such as the IOC, the British Government, the OECD and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
