NFL: Chargers: Season’s Out for Hunter Henry

Bitter setback for the Los Angeles Chargers: After the bankruptcy against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, the playoff hopes hang in LA. The Chargers will have to do without Hunter Henry for the rest of the season.

As the team announced on Tuesday, Henry was injured in the season. The tight end suffered a small kidney tear in the game at the Chiefs and was put on the injured reserve list.

This makes the defeat against Division rivals even more bitter: with a win, the Chargers would have had their own destiny in AFC West, the Chiefs hold all the trumps for the Division title. Even around the wildcard, L. A. now fear and speculate on slips of the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans.

For Henry himself, it is the end of an eventful season. Early in the season the team seemed to ignore him several times in the game plan, it took several weeks before the 23-year-old arrived in the season. Henry ends the year with 45 catches for 579 yards and four touchdowns.
