Handball: Rhein-Neckar Löwen long without Rnic: Rear area players have to be operated on

The German champion Rhein-Neckar Löwen will presumably have to give up his backroom player Momir Rnic for three months. The Serbian international has suffered a fracture of the left metatarsal bone during training and will need to be operated on in the next few days.

The 30-year-old right-hander also missed the Bundesliga top game against vice champion SG Flensburg-Handewitt (32:27) due to the injury on Thursday, and is also not available to the Serbian national team at the European Championship in the spring of 2018.

“For Momir, I’m terribly sorry for this injury. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope that he will soon be back on the field,”said Oliver Roggisch, Sports Director.
