Winter Sports: Snowboard-Cross: Jana Fischer fulfils Olympic norm

The German snowboard-crossers have not been able to confirm their excellent performance just before Christmas. At the World Cup race in Cervinia, Italy, no German participant could go beyond the quarter-finals. Jana Fischer was ranked 16th in the women’s category, but she met the national standard for participation in the Olympic Games.

The German men missed their place in the quarter-finals, above all Paul Berg (Konstanz), who finished 13th in the final. I was the winner in the French Val Thorens last December. The Italian Michaela Moioli and her compatriot Omar Visentin were the winners in Cervinia below the Matterhorn.
