NBA: Phoenix Suns releases Mike James after two weeks

Only two weeks after being the first two-way player ever to receive a standard contract, the Phoenix Suns have already dismissed Mike James.

We would like to thank Mike for his commitment,”said General Manager Ryan McDonough, quoting in a press release,” He made history by becoming the first two-way player in history to win an NBA contract and become a true NBA player.”

James played 31 times for the Suns, 10.4 points and 3.8 assists in 20.9 minutes.

The Suns had recently signed Isaiah Canaan from the G-League. Apparently, he’s out of position for James.
