DEL: Cologne sharks get US forward

The Cologne sharks have signed US striker Bill Thomas. The 34-year-old comes from Ilves Tampere from Finland to the eight-time champion on the Rhine.

“Bill Thomas is an experienced striker who can play all three offensive positions and has shown at every level that he is a reinforcement for his teams,”said Shark Director of Sports Mark Mahon.

Thomas played in the NHL for the Penguins in his hometown Pittsburgh and the Florida Panthers. He was already training with his new team on Tuesday morning. It is not yet clear whether he will be able to play against the Duesseldorf EC in the evening (19.30) in the derby.
