Basketball: BBL: Bayreuth takes momentum from Derby’s victory

Medi Bayreuth remains clearly on play-off course after the first half of the BBL season. In the second matchday at the relegation candidate BG Göttingen with 93:70 (48:40) and caught up with the MHP giants Ludwigsburg and Alba Berlin in fourth place in the standings with 24:10 points.

Three days after the 85:75-75-derby win against champion Brose Bamberg, Bayreuth’s Gabe York was the best thrower with 22 points. It was the seventh defeat in a row for Lower Saxony.

In the lower half of the standings, the Löwen Braunschweig passed opponents Science City Jena after 69:68 (36:30) and are now in twelfth place.
