Handball: Ludwigshafen commits to junior national goalkeeper Hanemann

Bundesliga club Eulen Ludwigshafen has signed Stefan Hanemann, a junior national goalkeeper for the second half of the season. The 21-year-old changes from second-league club HSG Konstanz to the Palatinate team threatened with relegation and will receive a contract until 2020.

“I am happy that we have managed to get one of the big talented youngsters into the goal,”said coach Ben Matschke. This year Hanemann reached fourth place with the national team at the Junior World Championships in Algeria.

“If a talent such as Stefan offers this opportunity, we didn’t want to stand in his way,” says Andre Melchert, sports director of HSG Konstanz on the club’s own homepage. I owe a lot to HSG,”the 21-year-old is quoted as saying.
