Speed skating: Herzog wins second medal after European Championship title

Vanessa Herzog has won her second medal at the European speed skating championship in Kolomna/Russia.

After gold over the 500 m the previous day, the Tirolean won silver on Saturday over the 1,000 m. Herzog only had to admit defeat to the Russian Ekaterina Schichowa. Their backlog in the direct duel was 0.10 seconds. Bronze went to the Dutch woman Marrit Leenstra.
