Alpine skiing: 40.

Ski racer Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) remains untouchable in the World Cup for the time being. In the Slovenian city of Kranjska Gora, the overall World Cup winner also won the slalom and thus the fourth race of the Olympic year after the giant slalom. The Olympic champion and world champion was clearly ahead of Frida Hansdotter (Sweden/+1.64 seconds) and Wendy Holdener (Switzerland/+1.87).

Best German was Christina Geiger (Obersdorf) in seventh place. They were 4.01 seconds behind Shiffrin. Her two team-mates Lena Dürr (Germering/13th) and Marina Wallner (Inzell/21st) were even further behind.

Shiffrin drove to her world cup victories 37 to 40 within only seven days. The 22-year-old exceptional athlete won eight of the past nine competitions. Of the last 25 slalom races in which she competed, she finished in first place in 20 and only one did not finish on the podium.
