Basketball: Alba Berlin brings Vasturia home for injury misery

Alba Berlin from the German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) has reacted to his injury and signed the US-American Steve Vasturia. As the eight-time champions announced on Monday, the 22-year-old Guard will receive a contract with an option for another season until the end of the season.

The 1.96 m tall graduate of the renowned Notre Dame University is now eligible to play in BBL and Eurocup.

“Due to injuries to Spencer Butterfield and Bennet Hundt, we were looking for reinforcements. However, we only wanted to commit ourselves if we found a player who would suit us and for whom we see a perspective at Alba,”said Alba sports director Himar Ojeda. At half-time in the regular season, Berlin is second in the standings with six points behind Bayern Munich.
