Alpine Skiing: First downhill training in Wengen cancelled

The first downhill training before the Ski World Cup in Wengen/Switzerland was cancelled on Tuesday. This was announced by the FIS. The reason for this is the weather conditions: At night there had been 20 cm of fresh snow, and wind gusts caused damage in the finish area of the legendary Lauberhorn downhill run.

Further training runs are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday a combination will take place in Wengen before the departure on Saturday. The World Cup weekend ends with a slalom on Sunday.
