Basketball: EuroCup: Bavaria with first intermediate round victory

The sovereign Bundesliga leader Bayern Munich celebrated his first victory in the intermediate round of the EuroCup.

The 2014 champions beat Lietuvos Rytas in their first duel with the Lithuanians at home in the Audi Dome with a score of 81:68 (42:35).

At the start, coach Sasa Djordjevic’s side had only suffered their second defeat in the current competition with a 76:90 defeat at Fiat Turin.

After a balanced first quarter, the residents of Munich continued to settle down. The best throwers of the hosts were Jared Cunningham and Devin Booker with 18 points each. Nihad Dedovic scored 14 points.

In the late evening, the second remaining German club will also play its second match in the round of the last 16 teams. Former champion Alba Berlin, who also lost his opening match, will meet Galatasaray Istanbul in his own hall. The two best teams in each of the four groups of four will enter the quarter-finals.
