DEL: DEG loses again against Schwenningen

The Duesseldorf-based EC has also lost the second game within six days against the Schwenninger Wild Wings and thus lost ground in the fight for direct play-off entry.

The eight-time champion lost against the Black Forest in front of 4736 spectators in the ISS Dome with 2:3 (0:0,1:0,1:0,1:2,0:1) after extra time.

While the guests successfully consolidated their fifth place in the standings, DEG failed to reach seventh place with a threesome. Only the best six teams of the main round will be directly involved in the decision for the championship.

Darryl Boyce had brought Düsseldorf into the lead in the middle period. Then the Wild Wings, who had won their home game against Düsseldorf 4-2 last Friday, turned the game around thanks to goals from Damien Fleury and Mirko Höfflin. Rob Bordson’s equalization forced the extension and thus a point for the hosts.
