Olympia 2018: Shark goalkeeper Peters in Canada’s squad

Goalkeeper Justin Peters from eight-time German champion Kölner Haie has been appointed to the Canadian squad for the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.

The 31-year-old is the only DEL player in the 25-man squad of the nine-time Olympic champion. Peters, who played 83 games in the North American professional league NHL, has been playing for the sharks since October.

After the NHL’s cancellation of the Olympic Games, the Canadian squad consists mainly of players from the European leagues. With the stars around the three-time Stanley Cup winner Sidney Crosby, the “Ahornblätter” won gold in 2010 and 2014.
