Iceland’s Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson has equalled the world record for international goals. The left-winger from the German champion Rhein-Neckar Löwen scored five goals in the opening game of the North Europeans at the European Championship against Sweden (26:24) and took his international goalkeeper’s account to a fabulous 1797. No other player has scored more goals in international matches.
