Marcel Hirscher is skiing like from another star. After the next dismantling of the competition in the Wengen slalom, there is actually only one question to ask:”Are you unbeatable, Mr Hirscher?
Hirscher:”Unbeatable is the wrong word. Everyone’s beatable, so am I. I’ve always felt very comfortable here in Wengen. Ever since I first came here, I’ve imagined winning this race. This is special to me.”
Question: What was the key to the first victory in Wengen?
Hirscher:”That the piste was treated with water (ice / note). This was the last classic in the slalom calendar that I have not yet won until today. That’s something big for me. Now the questions after that stop. I’m very happy about it.”
Question: After the ankle fracture you put aside the topic of the overall World Cup. Do we see the easiest running deer of all time?
Hirscher:”Tell me, I have no idea. I’m already trying to take the risk and not die at points, like that. I hope I can keep this up.”
Question: After the Switzerland classics, those in Austria follow in Kitzbühel and Schladming. How much stress, how much fun?
Hirscher:”Definitely a lot of fun, too. But it is a giving and taking, I hope that the whole thing is designed in such a way that it is and remains halfway friendly for the athletes. It is always a balancing act between appointments and racing. The experience really helps you.”
