The Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to a trade deal with the San Francisco Giants by Andrew McCutchen, according to media reports. The five-time All-Star and National League MP of 2013 seems to turn its back on the Bucs after 13 years. An official confirmation from the teams is still pending.
McCutchen has been associated with the Giants since November 2017, who desperately search for reinforcements for the offense after their 64-98 record.
McCutchen brings this quality with him. The 31-year-old recorded 33 RBIs in the past regular season with an average of. 279.
The Giants would then take over McCutchen’s one-year contract with the Bucs, which still promises the outfielder 14.5 million US dollars. Only the medical check is still outstanding.
But it is still questionable who the Giants would give for McCutchen. According to MLB Pipeline and FanRag Sports, neither Top Prospect Chris Shaw nor Tyler Beede are part of the deal.
After Evan Longoria, McCutchen would be the second notable newcomer to San Francisco.
