Basketball: EuroLeague: Bamberg back in play-off race

The German basketball champion Brose Bamberg has reported back in the race for the play-off places in the EuroLeague. The Upper Franconians won on 18. In the second match against Zalgiris Kaunas from Lithuania, they scored their first win after five straight defeats.

In twelve games still to come, the Bamberg team moved up to 12th place in the standings with a record of 7:11 victories. This puts the Bundesliga team two more victories behind eighth place, which entitles them to participate in the play-offs. Kaunas (11:6) is sixth.

In front of 6150 spectators Bamberg won a 0:7 run before the halftime break, but won the third quarter with ten points. In the final quarter, the hosts were trailing only once and then kept their lead. The Texan-born Augustine Rubit (Bamberg) was the best thrower in the field with 22 points. Daniel Hackett contributed 15 points to the win.
