Norway’s national handball team is shaken by accusations of sexual harassment during the European Championship in Croatia.
Norwegian international Nora Mörk (26) reported in an interview with the newspaper VG that private and very personal photos of her mobile phone had been sent around the men’s team after her mobile phone had been hacked. In addition, she was sexually harassed by members of the team.
The vice-champion also said that she had already informed the Norwegian national team in October last year, but that she had done nothing about it,”The association knows that I am now thinking about my future in the national team,” said Mörk, top scorer of the World Cup last December in Germany:”I don’t know whether I want to continue to be part of an association that cares more about colleagues who engage in sexual harassment than I do.
Norwegian association president Kare Geir Lio denied the accusation of inactivity:”The most important thing for us was to support Nora and to work on this matter as well as possible. That Nora perceives this differently is very unfortunate.”
