Ski jumping: Richard Freitag in the line-up for the ski jumping home world championship

Germany’s top jumper Richard Freitag returns to the World Ski Flying Championships in Oberstdorf (18. till 21. January) to the team. German national coach Werner Schuster nominated the 26-year-old for the big event in Friday’s home town of choice almost two weeks after his crash at the Four Hills Tournament in Innsbruck.

In addition to Friday, Andreas Wellinger, Markus Eisenbichler, Karl Geiger and Stephan Leyhe are also in the line-up.

“I’m glad that the ski jumping at the Ski Flying World Championships will work again. I’m not 100 percent pain-free yet, but good things are that it will work out well despite all this,”said Freitag in a DSV press release.

Schuster added:”From a medical point of view, everything is okay with Richard at the moment. After the two-week break, it’s hard to tell what his current flight capacity is.”
