European Handball Championship: Duvnjak also misses Croatia at the main round opener

The host Croatia will have to give up top star Domagoj Duvnjak from the German record holder THW Kiel at the start of the main round of the European Handball Championship:”I will not play against Belarus on Thursday,”the Croatian captain told the SID after arriving at the team hotel in Zagreb.

Duvnjak had suffered a muscle injury in the calf in the opening game against Serbia. He was sorely missed at the defeat on Tuesday in the final group game against Sweden.

“We have to watch from day to day and wait for further investigations,”said Duvnjak. Other opponents in the main round are world champion France and the World Cup runner-up Norway.
