Handball: European Championship 2018: Slovenia appeals against dismissed protest

The German national handball team’s score in the European Championship against Slovenia (25:25) is not yet dry.

The Slovenian association filed an objection against the rejection of the protest late on Tuesday evening. The EHF informed the DHB about this.

“We take note of this and discuss how to proceed,”said DHB Vice President Bob Hanning. On Wednesday, an EHF Commission will take a final decision. Earlier, the EHF had rejected a first protest against the scoring.

The protest was about the question of whether the seven-metre lead to the last-second equaliser for the German team by Tobias Reichmann was right. Three Slovenian players had previously prevented Paul Drux from throwing Germany in. The point of contention was whether the ball left Drux’s hand before or after the final siren. The Lithuanian referees had consulted the video evidence before their decision on Monday evening.
