Ski Alpin: Svindal wins Super G in Kitzbühel, Mayer on the podium

Aksel Lund Svindal wins the Super G in Kitzbühel. The Norwegian prevailed on a shortened route 50 hundredths ahead of his compatriot Kjetil Jansrud. Last year’s winner Matthias Mayer will be third after a not completely faultless ride with 56 hundredths of a second behind.

Hannes Reichelt is only one hundredth of a second behind the podium in fourth place. Vincent Kriechmayr (+1.29 sec.) in tenth place and Christian Weber 14 (+1.59 seconds) in third place complete the strong ÖSV result.

The 35-year-old Svindal celebrates his third victory of the season and his 35th overall. Victory in the World Cup, 16 of them in Super G.
