Ski flying: Strength barely misses the podium at Tande Festival

Stefan Kraft saved his medal chances after the first of two flight days at the World Ski Flying Championships in Oberstdorf. The world record holder sailed in the first two rounds on Friday at 218 and 208.5 m and ranks fourth. The Salzburg man is currently missing 19.5 points on bronze. In the lead is Daniel Andre Tande (NOR) ahead of Richard Freitag (GER) and Kamil Stoch (POL).

Tande leads with 449.6 points 10.9 points ahead of Friday and 17.8 points ahead of Stoch. The other two Austrians Clemens Aigner and Manuel Poppinger improved to 17th and 18th place respectively. Michael Hayböck did not start after a fall after landing in the first round due to an elbow injury. The rounds three and four start on Saturday at 4 pm.
