Biathlon: Antholz World Cup: police searches Kazakhstan team hotel

The Italian police searched the team hotel and vehicles of the Kazakh national team during the Biathlon World Cup in Antholz. According to the World Federation IBU, this is a consequence of the investigation report drawn up by the Austrian authorities in Hochfilzen after investigations at the World Cup last year.

At that time, the Austrian police had carried out a doping raid in the Kazakh team accommodation. According to a statement by the Federal Criminal Police Office, numerous medical products and medicines were seized.

According to the IBU, it is not yet known what information the police have gained from the searches that have now taken place in Antholz. Formal proceedings may not be initiated until the results are known.
