Freestyle Skiing: Skicross: Injured Zacher wants to carry on

Ski-crosser Heidi Zacher, despite her torn cruciate ligament and the associated Olympia Aus, doesn’t think of a career end.

“The primary goal now is to get well. Then I would definitely like to get back on skis and continue with Skicross,”said Zacher on Monday in Munich.

After a strong season, the 29-year-old was considered to be a medalist for South Korea, but last weekend she had seriously injured her left knee after an accident during training for the World Cup in Idrefjäll/Sweden.

The operation was successful, reported Zacher (Lenggries), who took part in the clothing of the Olympic team with a knee orthosis.

Whether she will tackle the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing, however, she couldn’t say, said Zacher:”I don’t know, I have short-term goals for the time being” The competitions in Pyeongchang (9. till 25. February) she will definitely watch “on television. I look forward to seeing some of the world’s best athletes at Olympia super sport.”
